238-1 effectively with 2 days to go. I didn't watch or listen all day but I did catch a couple of mentions of the odd ball keeping low.
We just need to keeping batting and, if it suddenly becomes tricky we might be bowled out, but with plenty of runs in the bank.
If we don't get bowled out by tea tomorrow then a decision will have to be made. If it does remain flat we can't afford to give them anything they could possibly chase down.

266-4 now, I don't mind us being bowled out but not until about tea time with about 450 in the bank.

It has not gone entirely our way this morning; 196 for six, as I type, 318 ahead. The bad news is that we've lost five wickets this morning, as the ball has darted about.
The good news is that the ball has darted about. 210 for six, Bess has just hit a six and a four off successive balls. 332 ahead.

Lots of early wickets all over the place, with the exception of Old Trafford.
It's not terminal in our case due to our strong position in the game. Alas it has been terminal already for Derbyshire and Gloucestershire and will probably prove to be so for Durham and Kent in Division 1.

Hmm. Time for a bit of Livestream today. Two more lbws ... one maybe, Wharton, JJB ... Glamorgan gob squad appeal and it really looked leg side and missing even though the angle is poor. Hill played on trying to leave.
Here is a good one. Fisher whacks a a straight 4 and van der Gugten goes to get the ball. He picks it up, wipes it on his cheeks and then polishes like mad. Throws ball to umpire who basically throws it straight back. Question ..... what is the ball drying power of human cheek skin? Question ..... what might you find on a cricketer's cheeks at the start of a session in full sunshine?
Answers on a postcard please.

Now there's a thing! Scrolling through the scores during lunch at Cardiff, I discover there's an ODI going on, England v Australia, and England are batting. Trent Bridge, it looks like.
Whatever next? I'll watch awhile, until Yorkshire start bowling in the big match.

England v Australia with Harry Brook installed as captain, entertaining enough if there wasn't anything else going on.
Apart from our game I think I'd put the game at Old Trafford in second place. With both Surrey at the top and Notts at the bottom in very strong positions its a game that neither Lancashire or Somerset can afford to lose.
Somerset need 393 to win, plenty of time but it's a tough ask.
As for us, I think we are getting to where we want to be even if it hasn't been easy. 100 plus runs in the morning session, and if we can keep going for the majority of the afternoon we will be as well placed as we could ever have hoped for.

I think getting bowled out looks promising, wicket not too friendly. 6 LBWs, hopefully umpires owe us one or two.

If the umpires maintain there lbw stance then I expect that we could run through this lot like a dose of salts. Ball skipping and leaping and the odd one keeping low-ish. Can't see 2 spinners doing what 4 quicks could do. It could be just what we needed yo get bowled out - come on YCCC.

Northeast gone west - first over. He couldn't read that delivery; it was in Coad.
Nine to go, Ingram in, need him out, and that right soon.
Update: Bairstow drops Tribe, dolly; Harry Brook hits Zampa for six; Coad gets Ingram. YES!!!!!!

Poor looking drop by YJB off Tribe ... and Ingram just failed to DeCoad one to mid-wicket!!
72 for 2 off 22 overs - 3 an over looks east. We have to keep plugging away.

He might do better not wearing sunglasses. He has never looked a great wicketkeeper, but looks more like a village one currently. His batting has always been good enough to get him into any team (well, apart from this match), and he has suffered by trying to do both roles.

Fair enough start, having to do some gardening, hope they can get another couple of wickets by the next time I come to check.

Just watched Coad get Carlson. For 2 overs he worked at pitching middle-ish and getting Carlson to play behind the crease, a little bit square on and following the line. Then one a little quicker I think and it beat the slide across of the bat. Just great seam bowling.
And he has just done the new batsman as well!!
Add in that Mr Hill has made one nip and seen off Kellway they are 94 for 5.

With their big game on Sunday and at 94/5, Surely there is no appetite in the Glamorgan dressing room to come back tomorrow!
