Some rest and rotation going on over the remaining early rounds so Sussex can rest on their laurels at the top of Division 2. Any team right down to us in 7th could overtake them in theory.
Lancashire, resting in Division won't be replaced at the bottom unless someone gets a points deduction.
Division 1.
Durham(5) v Essex(1) at Chester-Le-Street. Surrey(2) v Hants(6) at the Oval Warwickshire(4) v Notts(8) at Edgbaston Worcestershire(7) v Somerset(3) at Kidderminster
Division 2.
Gloucester(8) v Middlesex(2) at Bristol Leicestershire(3) v Northants(4) at Leicester.

200 up for Ben Duckett for Notts. Love him or hate him, I have to admit I'm coming round a bit.

No play anywhere due to rain. It looks like the Oval might be the likeliest to dry up first. Bristol and Kidderminster after that.
Play at Leicester has already been called off for the day, anywhere North of that will be late in the day if at all.

Cricket has broken out at Kidderminster between Somerset and Worcestershire. Good effort it they got as much rain as we have had.

Surrey managed to turnover Hants, with ease you have to say.
Essex went for quick runs and have a lead of 130 over Durham, a bit of a tester for Durham with 60 overs left in the day.
Not much else to write home about with the loss of overs yesterday making it difficult to see any other positive results in any of the other games, including ours.

Surrey, Essex and Hants have good overseas bowlers…..

Yes Surreys Australian fast bowler playing on a UK passport is Worrall and he seems to have done much better than our equivalent, Micky Edwards.

They didn't take an Edwards type punt on Worrall, he was playing Championship cricket in England for 3 seasons with Gloucestershire before Surrey poached him.
In the end Essex had to make do with a draw against Durham, it leaves them level on points with Surrey at the top.
All the other games in both divisions also ended in draws, Gloucestershire were best placed to go for a result, but didn't have the ambition.
For us the good news is we are within 12 points of the top of the table, we are also within 10 points of the bottom which indicates nobody as yet made a move.
Of course Sussex and Glamorgan have had the week off, Northants and Gloucestershire take a break next round.
