Yash Vagadia is pictured on video playing a leg glance and limping 3 runs before retiring 'not out' = hurt, in old money.
I was amused to see Leics include one DS de Silva in their team. Not the original, surely?
The DS de Silva I remember took loads of wickets for Middleton in the Central Lancs League - a leg-spinner, who just managed to become a Test cricketer before he retired. He was 39 on debut, his country's first Test against England in 1982. He is alive and a little older than me. We never met, but the 1970s saw the Manchester area awash with brilliant Sri Lankans: Tony Opatha, Anura Ranasinghe, Duleep Mendis, Roy Dias, Sidath Wettimuny....all of whom I did play against.
Because of their lack of test status and fame, they came cheap, but there was nothing second rate about any of them.
Tom Loten made 110, today.
